How We Rank AI Receptionists

How We Score (100 Points)

Every AI receptionist we review is scored across 8 categories that add up to 100 points. The weighting reflects what matters most to a small-business buyer making a purchasing decision.

Evidence Levels

For every claim in our reviews, we assign one of these evidence levels:

• Official source Verified from the vendor's public website, pricing page, or documentation
• Third-party source Verified from G2, Capterra, Trustpilot, or independent reviews
• Vendor-stated Claimed by the vendor but not independently verified (e.g., compliance certifications)
• Not verified We could not find public evidence for this claim

Since we have not performed hands-on product testing, most claims in our reviews are sourced from official vendor documentation. We clearly label this in each review.

Review Confidence Levels

Each product review includes a confidence rating:

• High confidence Clear public pricing, detailed feature documentation, established company, current verification
• Medium confidence Most information verified, but some claims are vendor-stated or pricing details are approximate
• Low confidence Limited public information, unclear pricing, or uncertain signup process

What We Don't Do

• We do not perform hands-on product testing (yet). Our evaluations are based on public product information.
• We do not fabricate test results, setup times, or call quality observations.
• We do not let affiliate commission determine our rankings. Fonio is our top recommendation because it scores highest on our criteria, not because of our affiliate relationship.
• We do not claim certifications we cannot verify. When a vendor claims SOC 2 or HIPAA compliance, we note it as “vendor states” unless we can verify from official certification documentation.

Update Policy

Limitations

Our rankings are based on publicly available product information. We cannot verify every vendor claim. Actual product performance may differ from marketing descriptions. We recommend taking advantage of free trials and demos before committing to any service.
